Cheap Antron Substitute

I picked up the tip from Roughfisher.com for a great Antron substitute. I went out and bought 8 bundles of "Needlecraft" latch-hook yarn from Robert's Craft. It only cost me $3 for the equivalent of 16 cards of Antron.

  2. It works great. I didn't have any pictures to post. But I've made a few sparkle pupa and it works GREAT. better then the Antron that comes on the card. Once brushed out, the previously coiled thread really looks great on this pattern. Haven't tried it for tailing shucks, but I'm pretty sure I can count on it working well. Thanks again for the tip!

  3. I've been using this stuff for years - maybe a better man could tell you differently, but I think it works great.

It's also good for furled extended body flies - i.e. damsel flies, drakes etc.

If you do a search online you'll be able to find it in more colors too.
